My Brother Knights,

 

On behalf of my Officers and myself I want to apologize for the lack of Council communications over the past six months. As you may know Glenn Tooth received a promotion from work and was transferred to night shift. As a result Glenn Tooth resigned as Grand Knight in December and I have assumed responsibilities of Grand Knight for the remainder of the Columbian Year.

 

I asked Jay Werling, our Treasurer, to function as editor for the Council newsletter through the end of June 2011. Starting with the February newsletter we will resume the normal newsletter format that to which you are accustomed, including your Chaplain’s message.

 

Our January Council meeting will be held on:

Our February Officers’ meeting will be held on:

DATE: February 14, 2011

TIME: 7:00 PM

PLACE: Faith Formation Center (FFC) Conference Room, St. Theresa’s Church

 

Last night we received word that Brother Michael J. Kudela passed away. His wake will be at Maxwell Funeral Home on Mathistown Road, Little Egg Harbor on Thursday January 13 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. His funeral is Friday January 14 at 11 AM at St. Theresa Church.

 

Again this year as we did last year, to benefit the Council Scholarship Fund, we are sponsoring a Spaghetti Dinner. Details are:

TIME: 4:00 to 8:00 PM

PLACE: LEH Community Center, Calabreeze Way, Little Egg Harbor

PRICE: $9.00 per person (take out is available)

Tickets will be available at the February Council meeting.  Also, we anticipate selling tickets after Masses on the weekends. Annually, the Council must provide its Annual Survey of Fraternal Activity to the Supreme Office.  To that end, I have attached to this letter a worksheet about your personal fraternal activity during 2010, which I ask you to complete and return to us by the January Council meeting, either at the meeting itself or by mail to the Council address above.

 

Beginning in February, all Council meetings will move to the new Faith Formation Center. Brother Joe Koptic will propose an amendment to the Council By-Laws to reflect the new location and times for our meetings.  This is the First Reading.  The Second Reading and vote will occur at the February Council meeting.

 

Our sister Council, Annunciation in Barnegat, is holding a Sweetheart Doo-Wop Buffet Dinner and Dance as a benefit for Deborah Heart and Lung Hospital.  The details are:
